Connecting with Kids at Henderson-Hopkins

As part of a recent clinical learning opportunity, organized by faculty members Kathie Kushto-Reese, Phyllis Sharps, and Alison Pirie, students in the Master of Science in Nursing: Entry into Practice program provided height, weight, vision, and hearing screenings for nearly 85 children enrolled in East Baltimore’s Weinberg Early Childhood Center (WECC) located on the campus of the Henderson-Hopkins School.

The SON, through its Health and Wellness Center located at the school, provides nursing students and faculty opportunities to extend health education to the children and families associated with the WECC and the school, and connect with the surrounding East Baltimore community.
